Hadith, Sunna and Hanafis

Hadith, Sunna & Hanafis was a one-day, free event on understanding Hanafi Legal Theory and its relationship with the traditions (ahadith) of the Holy Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). We were honoured by guest lectures from some esteemed speakers; incidentally, this event also coincided with the first graduation of the students in the Foundations Level of the HLCP.

Dr. Issam Eido is a senior lecturer at Vanderbilt University Department of Religious Studies, and a former Visiting Professor of Islamic Studies and Arabic at the University of Chicago Divinity School (2013-2015).

Mawlana Bilal Ali Ansari completed his Dars Nizāmī studies at the Jāmiʿat Dār al-ʿUlūm in Karachi, where received certification (ijāzah) in Hadith from various luminaries. 

Dr. Sohail Hanif works on Islamic legal theory, with a focus on the Hanafī school of law. He received a MA and DPhil from the University of Oxford.
