Prospective applicants should be fluent in written and spoken English, proficient in reading the Arabic script, and no younger than 18 years old. (Any further, specific requirements may be found on the individual course pages.)
To apply, the following must be submitted:
— Online Application Form
— A personal statement (maximum 400 words)
— One reference (from a religious teacher)
— For foreign, ESL applicants, proof of English language ability is required.
— Digital copy of an academic certificate, if applicable.
Approved applicants will be contacted via email, requested to pay a non-refundable application fee of 25 GBP, and invited for a short, online interview. Successful candidates will then receive an acceptance letter along with further instructions on paying the tuition fee and securing their place in the course. Please note that applicants are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis, and that spaces are limited. Accordingly, we recommend applying as early as possible.
Once applicants have been admitted onto the course, no part of the tuition fee is refundable. However, students who are forced to withdraw due to extenuating circumstances, such as ill health or on compassionate grounds, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Tuition may be paid as a single lump sum and at a reduced rate before the course begins, or through monthly instalments.
A limited number of scholarships and bursaries are awarded each year, ranging from partial to full scholarship, and any applications for financial aid may be made through the application form.
Programmes are offered online, unless stated otherwise, and students are highly encouraged to travel and attend the annual intensives in the United Kingdom or the United States.
The Centre’s students are expected to uphold proper Islamic decorum, as per the prophetic sunna, as well as the proper etiquettes of a student of sacred, revelatory knowledge, both publicly and privately.
Students who successfully complete the requirements for a full programme of study, and demonstrate maturity and leadership qualities, precise learning, and gracious character, will receive certification from the Irshad Centre for Hanafi Studies.
Breaks are scheduled during the summer and winter, and a break is also provided during Ramadan.
Class sizes are usually restricted to allow for an engaging classroom experience and the fostering and development of mutual camaraderie between participants.
